Who should I turn to for a good selection of frescos and mohair blend cloths?

I have seen Minnis' fresco book which is very good, and understand that Holland & Sherry has a good book also.

Smith's mohair blend book seem very lightweight. I am looking for a 10oz mohair blend for that extra body. Someone mentioned William Halstead. Are they known for mohair blend?

Suggestions are most welcome.

I don't know the Halstead, but I've both seen the Minnis book and heard good things from good tailors about it. Holland & Sherry is another standby.

Don't know where you are located but Isles carries a book of Fresco's by a company called Anglia -- decent stuff. If you are in the UK, you could seek out Edwin Woodhouse.

There is an old book of Lesser mohairs that some tailors have (9-10oz.) -- excellent fabric.

I believe Dormeuil has a mohair book as well.

I have seen this book and was impressed with the quality of the cloth but not with the appearance - the colors and patterns were all too somber (or otherwise dull) for what is essentially a summer-suit cloth. I am a firm believer in lightening up when you lighten up. I might feel different in a place where there were no marked seasons and I needed a warm-weather suit all year round, but in NY the change in season brings a change in mood and I like my suits to follow accordingly.

Dopey -- I believe you are referring to the Anglia book -- if so, I agree. Its mainly blues and greys.

If the Lesser book is the one I am thikning of, it has been mostly picked clean. The stuff that's left is on the less attractive side.

Dormeuil's new mohair bunch arrived today. They have a range of lightweight and, I am pleased to say, a small range of Tonik.

There are still a few nice "specials" left -- the book is no longer distributed by Lesser as there is only a limited quantity of each design left -- in fact, I just got one :D
