As I understand it, The London Lounge is a two-tiered site. The first tier is for the registered "guests." This tier allows the members of LL to get to know new guests and allows those new guests to post questions and information about and experiences with the bespoke arts.

The second tier, however, is for the "members." This tier gives members access to exclusive photos that are posted in the Photojournal. These photos include--but, I believe, are not limited to--various celebrities and their bespoke garments, the Esky/AA illustrations, and member photos of themselves and their bespoke garments. As you can imagine, the last one is a very sensitive subject. In order for members to feel secure about posting pics of themselves, and due to the great amount of trolls and flamers on the 'net, Alden has restricted access to the Photojournal.

A guest may become a member only after the members have come to know a guest and feel that the guest is a trusted and valued member of LL.

Many, many, thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures. I understand that in time you plan to move them to the photo-journal. But initially, at least, I think it is a splendid idea to include them in the forum, incorporated into your emails. That way, one can easily go back and forth between the picture and the explanation, making it so much easier for neophytes such as myself to learn about the garments. Later, when you do move the pictures to the photo-journal, I hope that you'll be able to add some captions, so that when we neophytes take our second (and third) looks, our attention can again be focused in the proper direction.

Allow me to join in the praise--the opportunity to see these illustrations from Apparel Arts and Esquires of the 1930s are a huge reason why I joined the forum. I have all of Flusser's books, and Woody Hochswender's Men In Style, but obviously, there are many, many more classic illustrations than the wonderful, but limited portion those books contain.

Thanks to the generous participation and aid from LL member Russell, I have launched a project to restore all of the legendary Etutee posts.

The process may take a bit of time but this first post from March 2005 is complete now and ready for you education and enjoyment.

I will be posting the treasures here in the Benchmade Forum while work on their refurbishment is underway.
