Looks great, Michael.
One could easily tell by the video that the weight is substantial.

Michael,

Great coat! What do you think about having a pleat instead of a vent in the back of a polo coat? See for example the coat Simon Crompton had made: http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/2010/03 ... pdate.html

I have commissioned a similar coat from the same tailor in HE Box 32 oz cavalry twill (navy), but am somewhat unsure about the pleat.

Thanks,
S

I would not have a full pleat in back. To me that feature is better suited to a raglan Loden coat.

Wonderful coat Alden!

The Sicilian atelier is turning out beautiful work but a large measure of credit
must go to the stylist, the bespeaker, a true collaboration.

It's just about impossible to have that kind relationship today with the big name sartoria...anybody here have this kind of collaborative relationship with his tailor??

Michael,

Should one go for a center vent or side vents instead?

Thanks
S

This coat is absolutely stunning! I don't usually like coats unless they are black or blue but this one looks really great on you! :)

I think the center vent is most elegant.

Thanks very much. I believe that the true collaboration has always been a bit rare. Most tailoring operations do not have the time to dedicate to it. They are too busy making clothes.

I have had great pleasure using what bespeaking skills I possess to help visitors to the LL atelier realize their sartorial objectives. And "yes" we do drink great wine and eat great food and figs in between fittings. :D

Cheers
