You know, if I felt that I looked perfect in every other way, I would probably go there too. But I do not yet feel that way. Plus medicine is really different. Incredibly OCD.

This Kilgour list is the only time I have seen the "tautz lapel," and I am quite curious about what this is. Is there anyone who knows? Tautz lapel??

The reference, I believe, is to one E. Tautz, a London tailor of note. Jackets featured a notched lapel. A little judicious googling revealed this link:

I have cuttings of that fabric and another fabric that Mr. Mauritzio gave to Mr. Shattuck -- a black ground with purple and cream dots. Both these fabrics are incredibly beautiful and may be worthy projects for the cloth club some day.

This would be my adaption, which I hope to progress to over the next four to five years. I live and work in a conservative town of about 20,000 in the midatlantic of the USA. I wear a suit during the week days for the practice of my profession. On the weekends I perhaps average one social event and one worship service for which an odd jacket and tie are more apprppriate.

Garment: 6 heavyweight suits for winter, at least 3 double breasted
Material: 13 to 15 ounce worsted or flannel
Garment: 1 navy blazer and 3 odd jackets; 8 trousers
Material: heavy flannel and tweed; flannel, twill, moleskin, cordurory

Garment: 6 suits for midyear, at least 2 double breasted
Material: 12 to 13 ounce worsted
Garment: 1 navy blazer and 3 odd jackets; 6 trousers
Material: 11 to 13 ounce worsted and tweed; twill, heavy cotton

Garment: 6 suits for summer, at least 1 double breasted
Material: 10 ounce fresco
Garment: 1 navy blazer and 3 odd jackets; 6 trousers
Material: 10 ounce fresco,linnen,8 to 9 ounce worsted; fresco,linen,cotton

Garment: 2 oxford gray double breasted strollers; odd trousers(perhaps not neccessary but nothing better for that special day event, matching trousers really increase versality)
Material: 1 of 13 ounce herringbone,1 of 10 ounce fresco; 13 ounce POW check,13 ounce stripe

Garment: 2 dinner jackets and trousers,1 peak lapel 1 shawl
Material: 13 ounce,10 ounce

Garment: 1 trench coat(the best thing for late spring and early fall rain),1 navy double breasted topcoat,1 dark gray double breasted overcoat,1 chesterfield

Garment: 30 shirts(perhaps 6 with double cuffs),50 ties,10 bow ties(not for work but a nice touch for small private and artistic events).

And for shoes one should have 3 black pair and 9 brown ..."according to ample means moderately applied" (Storey,2008,37).
