Is yours cut to wear over a sweater, or a jacket?
Over a sweater. I think of these 3/4 coats as I would a tweed sports coat.

I reserve my longer coats for wear with jackets and suits.

All very beautiful coats above!
Isn't F/W a great season!!??
We should have some photos of members here dressing for the season if anyone has the energy!
Thanks UC!

I do encourage all members to post pictures of themselves in full Fall/Winter attire. It is such a great way for all of us to learn.

Cheers

Screamin

Looks great! Perfect medicine for F/W weather. Cloth is lovely. Are those metal buttons?

Dear Screamin,

bellissimo capotto - beautiful cut, love it :D

About the buttons, I would reconsider. I know I cannot trust my computer screen, but I think a matt horn would be better. Now I know this is a challenge in Italy where all horn buttons have this glossy finish...

Thank you David!
I agree with you that a matte finish is more refined and less conspicuous (and less plasticky): I'll see to that after this season
I also have to admit I enjoy some surprise or unexpected touch from my tailor :D

MOP buttons were commonly used on camel colored OCs and especially Polo coats as seen in this illustration

I think they can look great but like David I have always been a fan of rich brown matte horn buttons on camel and dark camel....heck on just about anything! 8)

Dear Screamin,

I would have a few ones to share from that compartment
Most times, I manage to stay Zen, walk away with it and see how it feels after a while. Some perceived mishaps are actually turning out to be good solutions. It's all part of the game and offers entertainment 8)

Dear Michael,

you sum it up very nicely :D

I have some MOP on suitings, on the Eden in Paris flannel and a tweed which is in the works. Yet, I still think matte horn does a better job...

Cheers, David
