Of Galactic Proportions
As with planets, stars and galaxies, there are a great many tailors out there, but which ones support life, and most importantly, which ones support your particular style of life. The biggest or brightest can be found from a mile away; however, one must be weary of being pulled in by marketing forces, or blinded by search engine hits. Of course famous astronauts and astronomers have gone before, posting and tumblring their discoveries, but so much is left to be discovered. Is a dark patch in the night sky truly devoid of stars? Unexplored galactic bodies are out there, and remain in the majority, but require considerable time and effort to explore. Are you up to the task?
Anyone with a telescope can begin exploring for themselves, and that is how the field of astronomy got its start. Not with maned-missions, booster rockets, or large scale arrays, but by casting a curious eye to the sky and heavens.
It will be tempting as you set out to get bogged down in the numbers. Many have, and many will. But instead of looking down, all you need to do is look up, and be reminded of what you have in front of you. The rocket science is the easy part. The hard part is deciding what you want to do with it.
Go on with your space walk, and as you trek, watch out for black holes and stars with short half lives, lest you enjoy being taken for a ride. You will soon find that your own stories read the best. And with the passage of time and effort, you too will come across your very own star of a tailor.
Happy exploring.
A refreshing read on the ubiquitousness of tailoring. As there are many exceptional actors and singers that, for some reason or another - but not for lack of talent or skill! - never make it to the "star" statute, so it is with most trades. There are enough experience accounts in the LL alone to fill a small constellation. Imagine how much more is out there...
However, one has yet to choose whether to use a telescope or a microscope in this search.
