your favorite stylish moment on a movie?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Frank Capra's Mr. Deeds Goes To Town. There's a great sartorial scene in the movie where Deeds is being attended to by a couple of tailors during a fitting for suits in their basted form. Gary Cooper is at his understated best as he's being fuzzed over. Cast your mind back to the first fitting you had with a tailor. Bet you reacted exactly the way Coop does in the scene. In the following scene
Deeds is stepping out for the night dressed in a beautifully tailored dark double-breasted three-piece suit. He puts on a longline double-breasted Chesterfield and a smart fedora, all of which attest to a perfect ensemble.
You just can't beat the tailoring of leading men in movies made in the 1930s! Better than illustrations, m'thinks, because you can see how a man in well-cut clothes should move. The same could be said of leading ladies. Pity the current crop of actors and actresses haven't a clue how to cross a set properly. It's grace versus klutz. No contest, really.

I can't pinpoint an exact moment, but Daniel Craig cuts quite a dash as 007 in most of Casino Royale, as I recall. It's a return to form for Bond - the description Fleming gave of Bond's clothes in one of the books (quoted here at some point, though I can't recall where) is almost a little primer for how to dress in a quietly stylish way.

i guess on style he can't beat Pierce Brosnan for obvious reasons, but he did the best he could for a man his size.

The Officer in Bridge Too Far remarking to his Batman about packing his evening wear for the Airborne assault, was, in the film LtCol J.D. Frost. In reality it is more likely to have been made by LtGen "Boy" Browning, who established a reputation as a natty dresser in his early days in the Guards. BTW he was married to Daphne du Maurier, the prolific writer who gave us a little film called "The Birds" directed by Mr. Hitchcock and my wife's namesake.

Well- I disagree (I rank Brosnan's bond pretty lowly) 100% but that's for a different thread.
