Barristers' shirts

Dear all,
After many years of prevarication, I should be at last reading for the Bar in the near future. I hope to have some shirts made in traditional manner, with detachable turndown collars that can be replaced for court with a wing collar.
I was hoping that someone (Mr. Storey, perhaps?) could give me some pointers on fit and finishing. The two questions, in particular, that are troubling my mind are these:
1. Am I right in thinking that the turndown collar 'buttons' on the inside of the neckband, whereas the wing collar buttons on the outside? If so, how should I size the neckband so as to be comfortable with both?; and
2. I have gotten it into my head that it is appropriate, if not most appropriate, to have a covered placket front?
Sadly, in Australia the vast bulk of barristers wear a 'bib' with a fake shirt front, collar, and bands, over the top of their usual shirts (even some Silks and judges engage in the practice) and the rest seem to wear attached-collar wing shirts, so advice is not really forthcoming.
Thanks in advance,
-Bird
