I'm a real perfectionist, but even I don't strive for perfection in some things, because I (maybe just me) think it's better that way. I can easily say matching the stripes of your knot to the tie is just too perfect, too uptight and a little trying too hard. It is like matching the stripes of the yoke of your shirt to the body of your shirt, maybe we are not used to it, but I believe that will look quite strange.

Besides, can the stripes ever be perfectly aligned anyway? you move a little, and it's out of place. Sometimes, things weren't done for hundreds of years for a reason. Not every invention is a good invention.
