Great article. It just shows that elegance is not limited to those of the highest income bracket.

A charming article. It is an affirmation of how the true gentleman wears his clothes as an expression of his innate manly elegance, and not as we so often see, as a vulgar display of attention neediness or status, in some imagined social pecking order. I'm sure if this man were alive today...he would be a welcome participant in the L.L.
It's a pity that the critical mass of peer pressure in the writer's workplace is a gravitational pull away from elegant dressing.
It is up to us to form small groups of those who want to dress well....so that we can encourage others to dress.

There, as my wife and I strolled along the cobbled side streets of Florence and Siena, we saw men beautifully dressed in elegantly tailored, slim, dark-blue suits with powder-blue shirts, their caramel-coloured shoes and tangerine silk ties the equivalent of a sartorial wink. Good wine, good food, good clothes – simply part of life.

A good picture of Elegant Life - a state of the spirit that ennobles everything around. And the sartorial wink metaphor is excellent!
