How very insouciant - and typical - that members should just return, after the lengthy - but impressive-looking - overhaul of the site, and carry on with business as usual. But since I am 50 this year, I am going to indulge myself in a loud HURRAH!!!

Dear NJS,
Indulge yourself if you must. You have the excuse of youth

Dear FiS,
It brings the spirit of this place (and what it means to so many of us) home, to have such an exchange, after an interval. Moreover, the relief to find the 'archives' intact is, in itself, an occasion for celebration: selflessly shared, accumulated knowledge, from so many, in all the branches of the whole topic of elegance, which the LL stands to defend and perpetuate.
very best,
NJS
