Hi,
I'm a new member here at thelondonlounge and just wanted to say hello.
I like classic style with bespoke, vintage and tradition and I'm also writing a blog about well dressed gentlemen where you can find pictures and a short interview with Luca Rubinacci.

Welcome Joe:
After viewing your blog I can honestly say you've come to the right place. You'll find a wealth of information and wit here that will help you tailor a great blog, and an even better haberdashery education.
You stated vintage in your opening statement, douse that also apply to cuff links?
Again welcome to the London Lounge.
Best Regards,
Cufflink79

Greetings, Joe.
Pardon my ignorance, but who is the bearded royal whose ties have such dramatically long knots (and how on earth does he make them like that) ?
Regards,
P.

Are you referring to the bespoke ties that this man wears?

Yes it's Prince Michael of Kent.
I actually think that kind of knot suits him but its probably because he is so consistent and wears it all the time - and of course because of the high collar.

OK yes now I remember. But what about my other question? What knot is that and how is it formed? It's not on the FAQ of that site...

I believe that it is a four in hand knot, nothing complicated. In any case, the size of the knot is mainly due to the fact that the tie is cut very wide where the knot is.

On most ties that would require knotting at an unusually low point of the tie...

I think that Prince Michael of Kent is absolutely one of the best dressed men around. Funny thing I don't see his name mentioned some more.

Also, I think he may wrap around the tie twice (before around the back and over the top). That gives it a slightly thicker and more vertically aligned knot. I have the impression that this is a common knot style in the UK. I don't see it in the US much, but find it very appealing.
