Rugby shirts - a candidate for bespoke?

I realise that this post may seem me frogmarched to the exit, but I was wondering if anyone could suggest a way that I could achieve what I'm searching for.

I am an ardent supporter of the Wales rugby team, but I find that my patience is ebbing away where the official replica rugby shirts are concerned; they aren't especially well made, they change from year to year (and are thus easily marked out as 'yesterday's news', as it were, though this doesn't concern me overmuch) and aren't particularly stylish anyway - I baulk increasingly at being used as a billboard.

I much prefer the 1970s style jersey - cotton, long sleeves, red with a white collar and with a fleur-de-lys embroidered on the front and a number (preferably 9 or 14, the positions I played at school) sewn on the back (and otherwise plain). I suspect that a search for a new off-the-peg version of one of these would be long and ultimately fruitless - can anyone suggest a way that I could perhaps have one made for me?

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. I'm not sure where rugby shirts feature in the Lounge's esteem, but I like them, and I suspect that being able to turn out on an international weekend wearing such a garment would rather please me.

Try a rugby supply store. I can't find the one I used to use, but have a look at this shirt - it sounds like the Wales jersey you like, or at least similar (I note that it has white hoops on the sleeves). Barbarian, the manufacturer, is a good make. I'm sure they'll sew your number on for you since they do that for team kit.

I know that Canterbury will do various custom jerseys, though I think that the minimum requirement is about 30.
