I am at a loss for a florest who can make a simple boutonniere. All I have found want to make a miniature corsage.

This can not be that complicated. Has anyone instruction to offer?

I've done it, passably, in each of three different ways. I've cut the flower and put the stem through buttonhole and stem-keeper: result, stained underlapel. So, out with binding tape: I have yet to find florist's binding tape (perhaps I could simply offer to buy a roll from a florist!) but found electrician's tape to be a fair substitute. Finally, a tiny glass or silver tube with a bit of water inside is an excellent way to keep a cut, unbound stem fresh throughout the day -- but it requires one's tailor to make a small pouch on the underside of the lapel, in place of or in addition to the twisted-silk stem-keeper.

Sometimes, large single orchids are sold in little light, plastic vials of water, which have a perforated plastic top. I have found that it is possible to put the stem of a buttonhole flower through the buttonhole and stem loop behind the lapel and then into the plastic top. This then grips the stem fast and there you are! The vial isn't heavy enough to disengage and all stays in place.
