Credit crunch biting and all ...I opted for the first time in more years than i care to remember to give made to measure suits another turn. I had heard horror stories of some companies that seem to provide little more than asian suits at London prices.... I was recommended a company www.cadandthedandy.co.uk who I was told were a new company that being said i got a nice discount for my 'perhaps' bravery. Anyway the suit arrived some week or so ago and have only with reluctance worn anything else this week. I wondered if anyone else has ordered through these guys and had similar success?
Off topic I noted in an article in the paper the other day that Moss Bross( urgh) were expecting a sharp upturn in consumers buying smart clobber..... !! surely they arent inversely related to the state of the economy...?

Thanks, "sleats" (and welcome to the Lounge).

I looked at "Cad & Dandy" (I hope the tailor's label is inside an inside pocket!). Are the clothes made in England? With such solicisms as identification of one shirting as "Tight Weaved Oxford Blue", I wonder!

Among other makers of MTM recommended by Loungers are "Bookster". They're in Herefordshire, I think.

Thanks for the welcome. The cloth certainly is English. I noted that for example some of their shirt bunches seemed to be from Acorn. As to whether the clothing is made in England or not I am not sure, not that either way I would be concerned. I stumbled across a company website recently, pointed out by a mutual chum employed at Kilgour that they and indeed several other houses have a supplier in china that other than cut the items do all the stitching and post back for the fittings etc. Looking for the link on my computer but strugglng but sure one of you guys know it. ??
I am familiar with the companies you mention but always thought of them a little like Magee and Bernhardts(le measure) more as a bag suit type but thanks for the heads up will look up again
