Is this cavalry twill suitable for raglan coat?

It would not be my choice. The Cavalry would look a bit dull at overcoat length. The cloth you choose should have either a pattern (windowpane or herringbone) or a good deal of surface interest (whipcord.)

It would play as a solid (like a melton). Charcoal or Navy would be better colors for that material as it'd be a "business" coat- as would set-in sleeves.

I did exactly that some years ago-- navy cavalry twill in a topcoat from Dege. Very crisp, very light, very effective. And very vulnerable to picking up a shine.
