Versatility of the Lesser 9.5/10 oz book

Now that the new Lesser book has been out awhile, how are people finding it?

I've settled on the brown nailhead from this book for a new DeBoise suit. All my commisions from Edwin thus far have been in substantial fabrics, and I am thinking of this as a spring/summer/earlyfall suit. I am debating a half lining for the coat.

I am seeing Edwin here in Boston on Monday, would appreciate any insights from those of you who have already sampled something from this collection.

Well, I settled on the brown nailhead from the Lesser 9.5/10 bunch. SB, notch lapels, 3 roll 2.5, out ticket pocket...plain front beltless trousers with side adjusters and two inch cuffs. Over time, the trousers I get from Edwin have evolved to a slimmer profile that what would usually make it out the door at A&S, and the gorge on the coat is a bit higher as well. I almost went with patch pockets, but decided it would not work best with the nailhead.

I'm also doing a DB 6/4 dinner suit in a Fisher 11 black barathea...the dinner suit will have my first pair of bespoke trousers with a fishtail back (and no back pockets!). Is anyone here familiar with Fisher? It's a new name to me, but their black barathea was the most black of any bunch in nearly every light. Midnight was very tempting, but this Fisher black is exceedingly matte and wonderful.

First fittings in April.

I like the feel of the Lesser 9.5-10 cloth very much. There are a dozen suits to be made in that book, and the brown you chose is one of them.



That is a Thomas Fisher book on the top of the table of the Sartorial vacations sartoria in Sicily. Its a fine book of formalwear cloth from Huddersfield. Good choice once again.
