The following is a picture of the “Burlington” model mid brim fedora sold by Bates in London. The reason I am posting this picture is to illustrate how a hat should be maintained. You see so many hats that have grotesquely misshaped and pinched crowns because of fingers used like pliers. The hat should only be slightly indented as shown in the photo. Be gentle with your hat and it will serve you for a lifetime.

The Bates Burlington Fedora is a little gem! I tried hats at twice the price and then found the Burlington. The instant I looked in the mirror I knew it was the hat for me and now have it in black and grey.
