Ian Ashmore, Managing Director at HFW Huddersfield Limited (ie Hardy-Minnis http://www.hfw-huddersfield.co.uk/hardyminnis/index.asp) has asked me if there are any other tailoring associations other than the CTDA (http://www.ctda.com/newsite/Find-a-Tailor.html)?

Are there any other associations I can tell him about?

While not strictly a tailoring association, the International Association of Clothing Designers and Executives (IACDE) regroups the tailored clothing designers of most major suit manufacturers worldwide; in such companies the designer is the head patternmaker, selects all trimmings and instructs the factory in the manner in which the garment is to be sewn in order to achieve the desired silhouette, and is usually head QC. It may be of interest to your friend.
