Hello,

I have searched a nice online store which sells all the stuff one needs to make a suit. All I have is wool fabrics and some needles and thread. I can't even find a thimble in my hometown.

Because of all the taxes and costs I would like to buy them all from the same place, which would ideally be in EU.

(This is my first post, but I'm been lurking a few months. Something about me:

I've made all my clothes for almost three years and now I try to make a suit. I know that It's not going to be perfect, but I want to try. Later, after I've done all the necessary stuff (studies mainly) in my home country Finland, I try to get an apprenticeship from London, and progress to be a cutter. It's going to be not until spring 2009, so I got "plenty" of time to practice before that from books..)

I hope you understand my bad english.

Olli

You need to contact Weldons and ask for a catalogue and price list:

Richard James Weldon Ltd.
60 Berwick Street
London WIF 8SU

Tel + 44 0207 734 7151

Ask to speak with Jane.

Good luck

Michael

Thanks Alden. I haven't called yet because of my fright of speaking in phone. I'm not very comfortable with my english too. But next week I will call and that's sure!

Hello, Opoika!

In case you or a friend can get along with german language, here are 2 german sites.
Go to www.folhoffer.eu
or www.orag.de.

Folhoffer has some nice stuff on offer, canvas, thread, shoulderpads, basically everything you might need for basic tailoring. The prices are quite low, but check out first, if they are willing to ship to Finland, and how much that will cost.

I'm not sure, if the Orag can respond to international requests, but give it a try. They offer all the basic ingredients to german bespoke tailors and dressmakers, but they have higher prices.

if you are looking for reasonably priced fabrics go to:
http://stores.ebay.de/BRITISH-FABRICS
You can find it on www,ebay.co.uk too! Use search fiield for: British fabrics
