MTM or Bespoke Shirts...in Atlanta

Hello all,

Recently I had a made-to-measure shirt made for me by the mytailor.com people. It fits very well (had one of their travelling salesmen measure me), but I am not impressed with the quality of the cuffs or collar (I had contrasting white cuffs and collar). The quality of the shirt is suitable, but the cuffs feel like thin paper.

Anyone know of some good places to get MTM or even bespoke shirts made in Atlanta, or traveling salesmen who provide this service to this city who will use nice material on the entire shirt (say, max of 200 USD per shirt)?

Thanks,

Chris

For MTM see Pat Dye at H. Stockton's in the Lenox store.

Yeah...Mr. Rimby told me about H. Stockton. I just wanted to make sure the cuff/collar fabric will be nicer than what I got out of Hong Kong (basically cloth rather than "paper"). I have even had the same problem with MTM shirts made in New Jersey and Tennessee, so I just want to make sure before I purchase again...

mytailor will make soft collar and cuffs if you specifically
ask them to. The problem with mytailor is that if you
deal with a salesman rather than with joe Hemrajani himself,
the results are often hit and miss.

If you email Joe and tell him you are unhappy with the
construction of the collar and cuffs, he might just
change them for you.

Cool! Good idea, and thank you for the advice.

Doesn't Edgar Pomeroy do MTM and bespoke?

He does...not sure about shirts. Anyone know?

I have heard very negative things about working with him, though. (From 3 different people.)

I would think Pomeroy will do either MTM or bespoke. The problem would be in keeping it at your price point.

I know for a fact he does "custom" shirts. Whether they are MTM or true bespoke, I'm not sure.

I have also heard some negative things about Edgar. You may want to ask Tom (Cufflink/cuffthis) about his experience, he has a Pomeroy dinner jacket.

Try Miller brothers for bespoke. Not sure about shirts but great suits, etc.

The most flexibility in Atlanta would be found at Sid Mashburn, his name sake line is priced very reasonably and has even a selection of Riva cotton. Shirts are made in Italy or the US. Feel free to tell him I sent you.

Merry Christmas.
