sizing issue between C&J and others...

i have a problem with the last 337 fit for C&J, especially the width of the shoe feels tight when i try them on...
does that mean the normal fitting (D or E??) for some other shoes - i'm lookin at sutor, Gravati, Vass, Santoni, Testoni, JM Weston - might be unsuitable for me?
BTW, i ended up buying Connaught chestnut burnished calf (last 236), though i was determined to get handgrade IN THE BEGINNING..,
