Looking for cloth

I recently picked up a biography of Chaplin. Was very surprised to find him very well dressed in private life. Also included were some pictures from the founding of United Artists. I was taken by the fabric of DW Griffiths suit. Does anyone know what this is? Looks like a Donegal, but not quite.
Thanks.

People are always asking for details about the Stroller, which Chaplin usually wears instead of the Morning Coat.

He does dress well. He looks very fit. Certainly seems to be a man who enjoyed his hobbies.

#1934 has something of this flavor. It's more rustic in real life than it appears to be in the picture.

My guess is that DW Griffith was wearing Donegal Tweed. Note that he has open patch pockets.
Chaplin is also wearing what appears to be Donegal Tweed. In years past people would wear less dressy suits or sports suits when traveling.
