Gentlemen,
This Swiss maker of shoepolish and -wax claims to be superior to all other manufacturers on the market, including Saphir For those who can read German: http://www.burgol.de/pdf/schuhpflege-mit-burgol.pdf, page 8 (including convincing pictures). This seems to be a rather bold statement. As we are all - within our means - striving for the best, I hope to hear your comments.
Regards,
Paul

Bit hard, as I've never seen or heard of them, let alone used them, before and thus have no way to judge...

I acquired some cans in different shades over the last few months. But I have not used them often enough to be able to compare them to other products. As soon as I have used them more often in the future I`ll report again.

The Distributor of Burgol in Germany, Rainer Ersfeld seems to be a dubious person. He also distributes a new book about shoes from the author Helge Sternke.
Together they used various pseudonyms in German shoe forums and on wikipedia.de in order to manipulate people. Some shoemakers and people from the shoe trade don't do business with Mr. Ersfeld and Mr. Sternke anymore. Moreover, Mr. Ersfeld used to distribute Grenson in Germany and he took every possibility on the internet to claim his products to be the best. Meanwhile, it seems that he does not distribute them anymore (apparently there must have been some problems).
Burgol was not known in Germany and not even in Switzerland (where it is produced). Ever since Mr. Ersfeld became the distributor, this brand has become more and more popular among the shoe enthusiasts in a very short period of time. Due to the selling methods and the attempt of manipulating others there has been several problems.
Therefore, you should read everything byhim bearing in mind that he wants to sell his products.
Everybody who speaks German can send me a pm and I can provide you with more information.
I used Burgol and I can say it is a very good shoe polish. I would say it is as good as Saphir, or slightly worse.
