Alden recently posted pictures of his gorgeous unlined Minnis fresco jacket.

In Alden's unlined coat, the canvass is covered with self material. Is it practical for this treatment to be used for heavier cloths, say 13oz-15oz range?

I saw a completely unlined coat - I say completely, including sleeves front and back - made with a heavy and thick thornproof tweed.

Not something I would do, but It can be made.

Was it self-lined on the inside to cover the canvass?

Uppercase, your 14 oz threshold for unlined, is this for reasons of structure and drape?

I think uppercase means that more 14oz has no reason to be. It would be just a matter of showing off technique and art.

I agree.

There is no restriction to cloth weight for leaving a jacket unlined.
Why would there be?
