Well, just a short guide, if you are going there.

Don't spend time on the little mermaid and Tivoli. Well, do it if you have lots of time there. Go visiting some barrios instead:

Vesterbro: especially Istedgade and Vesterbrogade: No classic style, but rough shabby chic bars, shops, people.

Nørrebro: especially Skt. Hans Torv and Nansengade. Not as cool as Vesterbro but lots of students and immigrants. Nørrebro hosts Assistens Kirkegård, the graveyard of Søren Kierkegaard, H. C. Andersen, Niels Bohr and other stars.

Christianhavn: old houses, nice bars, and very close to Christiania ...

Frederiksstaden, Bredgade, Amaliegade, Kgs. Nytorv and around: rococco and classic style buildings, well-established galleries and good bars and restaurants

Museums?

Take the "S-tog" to Louisiana 1 hour north of CPH, a museum just above the sea, and 20 km from Kronborg (Hamlet ...). Or visit Glyptoteket just beside of Tivoli, which has some very nice paintings from the 19th century depicting men's dress and style.
