White buck shortage?

I received a pair of spectators from Edward Green recently with reversed kid instead of the expected white buck. When I inquired about the nap, I was told that they do not have and cannot currently source white buck.

Seems odd when I can open the Ben Silver catalog and find a pair of Aldens with a white buck apron.

To paraphrase a line from an old mob TV show, "they are lying to you without showing respect." If they are going to lie to you they should at least show respect.
