Philadelphia rant

Okay, the death of tailoring, such that there are only two respected tailors in Philadelphia (Centofanti and Partito), I understand. One respected shirtmaker (Bartle and Donaldson) not opened on the weekends or late and w/o parking, okay.

But why is there no store in Philadelphia that sells men's "staples?" Barbour jackets, Pantherella socks, good quality calfskin belts (like Edward Green's) in a variety of colors with conservative buckles, country shoes, maybe a tattersal shirt or two, elegant pocket knives?

I went through a lot to get my Barbour jacket (after I sent the Beretta back). I should have a store where I can see the various models. Some clothing items should be "easy." Why not in Philadelphia?

AK is "easy" for Pantherella, but other than that, seeing what I am buying for once would be nice.

Obviously, things must have changed since the days when Philidelphia Story was named after your home town.
