Gentlemen,

I believe we would do well to support those guys walking the chalked line in protest on Savile Row by a letter campaign to Mrs. Angela Hooper.

Take a minute to write a note asking her to support and maintain what remains of Savile Row before it is too late.

It would be great if letters arrived from all over the world. So get your pens out and scribble away.

Thank you!
As a client of Savile Row ,an Anglophile and as a Conde Nast Magazine Top Travel Specialist (England and France) ,I just sent a letter (I think it is better to write than an E Mail - but I'm old fashioned) to Ms. Hooper in asking her to support the protest. I have asked other travel agents I know world wide to do the same.

Thanks for this alert. As others have said, letters have more presence, but at such times it's also useful for the response to be seen to be rapid. I've just posted an extended electronic message to Cllr. Hooper via the Westminster City Council page in the link posted above. Let's hope a diversified campaign of support will strengthen her hand and those of the Row's other allies.

While reading the article I tried to hold back tears of respect for the tailors as they stood proudly, frimly, & well mannered in what they believe in. I hope one day to visit the fine street of Savile Row and purchase a suit there, and see first hand the hard work that goes into one these fine garments.
Tailoring is a skill that one does not learn overnight, it takes hard work and great skill that these fine gentlemen and ladies have mastered. Best of luck to the Savile Row crowd, God Speed.
