1) The beautiful LL special Chukka reminds me of the wonderful Carmina/Albaladejo, so inaccessible to Americans. I wonder, does Carmina manufacture shoes with rubber soles, for example, a chasse or demi-chasse model?
2) How much do Bemer shoes cost in NYC at Peter Elliott? Are they available RTW or only bespoke/special order? Does Bemer have a beautiful Norvegese model?
Carmina, Bemer questions
Carmina is not inaccessabile to Americans. You can get them at Peter Eilliott in New York. They have a Chelsea boot with a rubber sole.
This Carmina thing at Elliott is new. What other models do they offer? How much are they charging?
They had four models: a plain cap oxford, the Chelsea boot, a blucher plain cap boot, and one shoe I can't remember. They are all cordovan, and all one shade of brown or another. The boots are $750. The shoes are less, but I can't remember by how much.

Elliot's shoe store i believe is having a sale. I think that's what i saw on the bus ride up Madison last night. If i have the opportunity, i'll try to stop in and see if the prices have changed since last week.
[edit - Stopped in at Soles while I was out. Boots $750 / Shoes $690. Through February 15th-ish they are offering a 15% discount. I have a wide foot and tried on a 9 in the rubber soled boot and the width and length were fine. The heel was a little loose. I spoke with Tim there, who i gather works there most of the time. Bought some Patherella socks from him. Nice guy.]
