Could anyone recommend any makers of good-quality clothes brushes? Is there anything in particular that I should look for other than the hallmarks of any good brush (natural bristles, etc.)?

Thanks to all who can help.

Kent brushes

Kent makes good brushes according to Roetzel. But I am pondering the question of clothes brushes myself. Are there any other makers? Also, what style, with handle or rectangular. And is it important to have a different brustle length for pants versus jackets? What about the cashmere brush offered by Kent; how important is that? These questions are largely generated by Kent's offerings. Who has good prices on Kent products?
Thanks!

Kent make a good quality clothes brush. The one I use is double-sided with shorter, stiffer bristles for brushing trousers on one side and longer, softer bristles for coats on the other.

The other day I got mud on the leg of a new set of grey Fox flannels. The stiff side of the brush made short work of the dried mud without damaging the fabric.

Why are the stiffer bristles more appropriate for trousers than jackets? If the material is the same on both, I would think the same stiffness of bristle would be appropriate for both.

I presume the stiffer bristles are for working mud and other things out of the bottoms of your trousers, while the softer bristles are for general brushing duty.

Exactly. It's not a good idea to "grind" the cloth on an entire garment when you're not in fact removing something that's ground in. So the stiff side is for that specific purpose, but stick to the soft side when all you need is a touch up.
