Just got these pictures from Tony, my new shoes are ready:
Material is pigskin.
Haven't seen the shoes yet, we have an appointment at the EG shop next Thursday.
I presume, Tony will put on a white beard, red gown and pull the shoes with “Hoa…hoa…hoa…” out of a sack.

Rolf:
They look beautiful; I love the beveled waist. Tony and PK did a great job. Please let us know how they look in person, and how they feel on your feet.
A great holiday present to yourself!

What handsome shoes, with beautiful waists. I'd be interested in knowing whether the vamp is really as long as it appears.

When I first saw this thread, I thought, "Oh, no. Rolf is bragging about his new Herrick boots again."
The shoes are beautiful. I'll be interested to hear how comfortable you find the pigskin to wear. The swatches that I've examined are rather stiff, but that doesn't necessarily translate into stiff shoes. I would also be interested to hear about the shape of the quarters. It's difficult to see from the pictures, but it appears that they have a dramatic sweep to the heel of the shoe. Is this accurate?

Gosh, you are perceptive as far as shoes are concerned!
Yes the quarters have more sweep than standard English V-fronts. The take-off (or come-down) point for the quarters is maybe ¾ - 1” further back than on a standard design (like Lobb’s “Perrier”)

They look absolutely fabulous, Rolf. The only similarly good looking shoes I have seen were samples that predate my birth by a few decades. The line of the last is absolutely beautyful, and the simplicity of the shape as well as the colour would show up any imperfection. How good Tony does not do imperfections...
I am most envious.

Rolf,
Those shoes look fantastic. I very much like the toe shape. Does Tony charge extra for the Santa act?
