Went to Warsaw last month, had a pair measured, and made...beautiful...but I feel a tad short...am sending them back to Monika Kielmann to see what she can do about it.

The workmanship is excellent, stitches are even, well executed. The leather I chose is from Polish calf, and very nicely finished. Lovely hue. Shown below is a picture of three pairs of recent acquisition, from top - John Lobb (Paris) RTW Nader in Antique Squirrel, Edward Green Berlerley in Dark Oak on 202 last, and the Kielmann bespoke:

It looks shorter in length than the others. How is the fit?

it is short...the fit around the girth is fine...quite comfortable. but the deficiency in length is not good...hence the need to send it back. When I walk, my toe feels like its touching the insides of the toe cap.

aha, I thought by "short" you meant you wanted more height in the heel.

Thanks for the photo. The Kielman shoe looks nice. Please do let us know how you get on with having the problem of fit rectified.

The shoes are with Monika Kielmann now...she will get back to me as to her recommendation probably in a week.

I just received word from Warsaw. Monika is going to have a new pair made for me. Will take about 2 weeks. Am looking forward to their arrival, and update.

They are back...um...in! A new pair was made, and shipped, and I received them yesterday! Thanks Kielmann for superb customer service. The shoes now fit perfectly... a little snug fitting, but excellent. Will venture to wear them when I return from a short trip to Jakarta on Monday, and will post another comparison picture like above. Cheers.

I'd be happy to see the reworked Kielmans, Peter, if posting a picture wouldn't be troublesome.

I would be interested in hearing a further review of the kielmans. There is a small chance I may have a busness meeting in Warsaw in mid-May. Thanks.
