Coloration for Grey Flannel Trousers

Have been searching for the perfect pair of trousers and think I may have found them (actually found an artisan to make them). Was wondering if I could get the lounge's thought on color. Am leaning towards a grey heather but know that darker grey is also popular. What's the consensus?

Dear Sir

It depends a bit on the season and color of shoes you wish to wear.

Choose a lighter grey for early Fall and Spring with tan and light brown shoes.

Choose a medium to dark grey for Winter with black, burgandy and dark brown shoes.

Choose charcol grey for evenings with black shoes.
