Help identifying a shoe

I can post a picture of this shoe if it doesn't spring to anyone's mind instantly, but . . .

It was an EG for RL Purple Label, a medium tan (antiqued) monk strap that was unique in that a very small strap ultimately closed the top flap. Does anyone know the name of this shoe model for Ralph Lauren?

I wouldn't know the Ralph Lauren designation, but are you by any chance referring to the EG Oundle?

For your information, the John Lobb Paris model Jermyn II looks very similar, and is of the same if not better quality. Pricey, though.

Originally, this type of wholecut (at least the Jermyn II consists of one single piece of leather) was introduced as the John Lobb Paris limited edition 1999 (I think, may have been 2000), and then the last changed for the Jermyn II. I am not sure whether the EG variety predates it.

Interesting. I believe the EG/RLPL predates the Lobb, as I bought mine around 2000, after first seeing the same pair on a friend in or around 1998.
