looks particularly nice to me: a single-breasted, peak-lapelled tweed. I'm just beginning to accept the possibility of a SB, peak-lapelled odd jacket or day suit for myself; I generally think of it as a single-button. But mightn't a tweed look nicer -- a bit more substantial in cut, according with the more substantial cloth -- as a two-button?

Is that a first fitting?

This was the second fitting; you can notice the chalk marks indicating where the buttons will go, as well as chalk marks and notations written right on the material as to required adjustments. Following this fitting, the suit was sent to off-premises tailors to make the marked alterations and returned to Steven's shop for further fittings.

At the third fitting, the suit was basically finished, the buttons were sewn on and the suit was ready to go. However Steven saw some areas for further adjustment and sent the suit back to the tailors again. At the fourth and final view, everyone was satisfied with the outcome.

The suit is a DB in a light weight, Summery, brightish blue, standard Harrissons - perhaps a super 80s. I chose the material on a particularly drab Winter's day, when in need of some cheering up, hence this shade of blue, looking forward to the Summer months.

The overall experience working with Steven was very good; he got the cut spot-on on the first try; the trousers are the most comfortable I have and hang very nicely indeed. The fittings were always ready as promised and the suit was delivered on time and as agreed; Steven's service was fine and the whole process was smooth and enjoyable.

BTW, when I looked at these photos again, I was reminded of the belted sports coat in the window, this was a particularly beautiful coat and very British looking to my eye; it was perfect for that cold, damp weather, just right for English country weekends in front of the fire. I also thought that the suit that Steven is wearing is also interesting for its shoulder treatment - with the slightly raised sleevehead - I had not before seen that on a SR suit, and its soft construction throughout.

The red eyes go great with the tie and pocket square . I thought I was only victim of red eyes.

The suit looks great, uppercase. Is this the bright-ish blue cloth you showed us at our London Lounge gathering earlier this year, when we visited Steven Hitchcock's shop?
