Hello all:
Cufflink79 here, in the original Thomas Crown Affair Steve Mcqueen wears a series of three piece suits wich look fine. I would make a few changes such as four working sleve buttons instead of one, and the vest would have points on them instead of being flat. One of my faviorite looks in the movie is when he wears a grey glen plaid suit powder blue shirt, and royal blue tie. The film credits say "wardrobe by Ron Postal". Don't know if that is a tailor or the guy who pick out clothes.

Ron Postal selected the clothing. The tailor was based in California by the name of Heinz..Alas, he is quite elderly and no longer cuts. I am fortunate to own several of his suits along with a tuxedo and tailcoat.
