I can't find it anymore, but some time ago some "minimum wardrobe requirements" were posted.
What are some wardrobe staples for someone who at least gets to experience all four seasons? Here are some thoughts:

Summer shirts, could be "business-style" but perhaps made from cotton/linen or linen, could have short or half-sleeves, could have collars made to be worn open, could have straight bottom with side slits

You know Michael, I do not know how you came up with the minimum wardrobe, but after a year of "dressing up" and with a few adjustments for Philadelphia style (please do not snicker), it has a certain Platonic truth to it, in that the numbers are just as they should be, with one exception: the shoes. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how even the most impoverished dandy can survive with seven pairs of shoes.

The suits, jackets, shirts, etc are right on, at least with my wear patterns.

It's called the minimum wardrobe for a reason. No-one who wears a suit every day could survive with the minimum recommendations either, but the numbers will get you through a week.

I'm sorry that I revive this old thread, but I read about a "minimum wardrobe" post that Alden wrote. It appears that one can only find it in the article section, which access is limited to members.

But I think that this is a very helpful information for new users of thelondonlounge.net. I would rejoice if this article became public.
