I went to Dublin for a few days and was very impressed with the tweeds, I got enough for a suit at a store called something and Howlin on Nassau street and then went to a store called Murphy Sheehy fabrics which had great linens and some very good tweeds(its kind of a of a store that buys overages and bits and pieces). I got tweed for a jacket there and will get some Irish linen for a suit.
There is not a single interesting men's store that I saw and the men dress terribly but the quality of fabrics, which I gather they export, has gone way up
But they do make those great caps in the tweeds so that is one visible improvement.
Its a wonderful city where the food is now very good and the people are fantastic

The store on Nassau Street is Kevinand Howlin. Great selection of fabrics and very friendly staff.

I bought a jacket from there as a "souvenir" during a trip to Dublin a couple of years ago. It was relatively inexpensive. Even though it is RTW (actually special ordered with my choice of fabric) and does not fit perfectly, I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear it.

If and when I go back I will probably buy fabric as you did and have a suit made.
