Welcome to Monsieur Arrata, editor of "Soulier" and "Stylographe" magazines in Paris.

Mr. Arrata is an established authority on fountain pen collecting and those of you who have an interest in same may wish to address your questions to him.

The idea of a limited edition London Lounge fountain pen has crossed my mind. Do we have any afecionados in the club?

I enjoy using fountain pens and seldom employ other, even in my work. Though I have more than a dozen, I doubt that I can be considered a true collector: aside from two or three inherited or received as a gift, I've bought pens out of a desire to find the ideal pen for me. Of course, the ideal in fountain pens is as chimerical as in bespoke clothing! Nevertheless, I've been pleased with both the Parker 51 and the Waterman "Edson", less so with various pens by Dupont and Cartier.

Despite the apparent fact that the more a fountain pen resembles jewellery, the less satisfying it is as a pen, I suggest we might be able to support a new section of the Lounge devoted to pens, cufflinks, and other adornments of the well-dressed man.

I'm hardly a fountain-pen afficionado--I use rollerballs for daily use --but I do enjoy writing with fountain pens at home. I own a grand total of 2, a Visconti and an ST Dupont. I've ordered a copy of Stylographe which sounds like an interesting magazine.

I used to deal with fountain pens at eBay for 2 years about 2 years ago. I still know Lutz Fiebig, Stefan Wallrafen or Tom Westerich - some German fountain pen collectors.
Moreover, I still own about 15 vintage Montblanc fountain pens in a price range from $ 300 - $ 1000 dollar. I also have several books about fountain pens but I do not collect anymore.
A LL fountain pen would be great!
What do you think about an enamel fountain pen? Or marbled celluloid? OMAS, an italian fountain pen artisan, still produces their pens on machines from the 1920's.
