I would like to offer the name of this store that offers excellent grooming products. Originally run by the nuns of the Santa Maria Novella cloister, they produce excellent soaps, shaving creams, moisturizers, and the like.

I remember your praising these products, Jan, and I intend to stop at the shop in New York city when next I'm there. Have you either a website for the products or a list of shop addresses? We'd all be grateful for either.

Jan
I have been using SMN products for ages and had a chance on two occassion to visit the store on via della Scala 16 in Florence recently to fill up on supplies.
From a grooming products point of view their offering is as complete as the great London establishments ie Geo Trumper, Floris, Taylor of London etc. But MSN has so many other interesting products and the shop in Florence is a masterpiece. Its well worth a visit.

I used to live, and still own an apartment, in Via della Scala at number 25, which is right opposite the flagship store.
Needless to say, I could but their lavender cologne, which I love, anytime. And, needless to say, I'd have to buy for friends and relations all the time.
Now that I live abroad, my father has to buy and ship for me and my wife....

Tip of the day: Buy bunches of SMN pot pourri and place liberal amounts of it in your closet. Opening the closet is a wonderful olfactory experience.
Also buy the pot pourri soap for men. Its the perfect soap for Fall and Winter.
Cheers

Thank you for the tip, Michael. I will buy some the next time I'm in London. I love to use their burning papers, 'Carte d'Armenia' for scenting the room.
