Kindly explain as to how you acquired this book. A while back at old LL site it was mentioned (Mr. Boyer was discussing it) but apparently I missed it somewhere along the line. Being an Astaire fan myself I cannot possibly pass this opportunity.

Any help is deeply appreciated.

BTW: I greatly admire your picture contributions to the forum. Those RLPL suits are quite nicely fitted....not to mention very tasteful stripes in there also. A treat for my sour 30s oriented eyes.

P.S while this is a totally different topic...I must ask you. Which RLPL era your prefer Chester Barrie or St. Andrews...and why? Moreover, which is your favorite line in RLPL (both new & old) and why?...very interested in knowing. Here I am referring to sub-lines within RLPL...like Douglas, Arthur, Philip etc. I am sure you know what I am talking about.

I believe the previous poster provided the answer for how to acquire the Fred Astaire Style book.

As for the RLPL, all of mine suits of this maker are from the Chester Barrie era. I found the cut of these to be excellent fits for my 40R frame. The only alterations to any of those suits was to hem and cuff the trousers and to provide buttonholes on the sleeves of the jacket. The Saint Andrews made RLPL are a significantly higher price point and the silhoutte is not to my liking as much.

I saved a lot of money from bespoke with these. But, I must confess, miss the fun of the bespoke process. I am eagerly awaiting the next suit that I am having made for me.

The East Coast Chapter will be having a book signing by Mr. Boyer on April 21st at Jay Kos's Park Avenue store. Details are set forth on the East Coast page.

Of course, visiting members are invited.

Out of curiousity, what is it about the St. Andrews cut RLPL that you do not like? Is it the fit or the styling? I have been invited to visit the factory and the next time I am on the Adriatic side, visiting my beloved Marche, I am going to stop by.

The cut is a little less severe, with less waist suppression (which I love to see in a suit's silhouette.

And the retail price is about $1,000 more than the CB ones. At $3k retail - go bespoke.

I know this thread is 3 years old but the book is still available- just ordered a copy!

Another late post: just a curiosity, but where in le Marche is (or was) the RLPL factory? (I happen to be there right now!)

And he didn't argue with the publisher that tuxedos weren't for weddings most of which take place during the day!
