My first good regular London tailor. Started back when they were on Clifford Street, and John McCabe was the main cutter.

I have used them for shirts for many years, with total satisfaction. Robert Whittaker made me an excellent pattern (far better than some other well-known makers who tried) and the talented Tom Bradbury has continued the excellent work since Robert retired.

Long after their tailoring imploded, I had Bob make shirts for me. I stopped that for two reasons: one year, they got an order for hundreds or thousands of shirts from one of their Middle Eastern patrons, and that pushed work back to where he no longer remembered exactly what I had asked for. And then I started having suits made at Anderson's. No huge problem, but the older Mr Hitchcock liked a really close & high collar in his jackets. When I asked Bob to adjust the shirt collar to adapt, he said no.

Too bad, as his cut for my body was inexplicably flattering, as a good jacket would have been.

Traditionally known as home to the finest bespoke tailoring for men, Savile Row and its tailors have evolved. The clothes being cut and made today by the Row's wealth of talented men and women are designed to suit everyone.

There's a photo of Prince Harry in his Dege wedding suit there too.

One of the few things he has done significantly better than his brother. The uniform, I mean.
