Mistral odd jacket

Due to some unfortunate circumstances (a thread catching on my cufflink during a basted fitting causing the thread to come loose down the front panel) my length of grey Mistral from the 2013 run is now only sufficient to make a jacket.

In that regard I thought I'd ask the membership the following:

1) Does Mistral work as an odd jacket / blazer?

2) What kind of buttons are recommendable on this colour Mistral?

3) I'm going for 2 slanted and flapped pockets (straight pockets make my hips look wider). Would patch pockets be better?

I'm still holding out hope that a member has some extra left over of this Mistral so that I can eventually have trousers made and thus complete a suit, hence I'm trying to make a jacket that would work both as an odd jacket / blazer and as a suit jacket.

Hi,
I have a navy mistral coat: obviously the navy colour lends itself more to an odd jacket, but if you fancy a gray odd jacket I can't see why not,

Dear BB,

1) Of course it works. Blue would be more versatile for this purpose than grey (I use my blue DB often as a blazer)
2) Recommend dark horn
3) Doesn't matter. Patch pockets are a little more sportive

Cheers,
David

PS: Don't give up, you might still get the cloth from somebody
