Tokyo shirtmakers

I would be grateful for any hints on shirtmakers in Tokyo. It doesn't have to be a posh place, in fact I would rather find some small operation where I can talk to the person who actually cuts the pattern, not just to a salesperson. I would like to be able to bring my own cloth (LL linen...). Japanese language only is ok.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi. I think Japanese shirts makers in general do not take CMT orderes especially on first commissions.

Famous traditional shirts makers are Tani Shirts, Yamatoya Shirts.

New guys on the streets are Yamagami Shirts and Minami shirts

If you cannot find their web site, let me know I can find those for u.

Thank you Bamboo! That is a very good starting point for further explorations!

As for CMT, I should have put in the word "eventually" in the sentence about bringing my own cloth. It makes perfect sense for shirt makers not to accept that on first commissions, but hopefully it could be an option at a later stage.
