What to do with shirt fabric left overs !

I always thought there were much better things to do with shirtings left overs than extra collars and cuffs . As we have discussed years ago in the forum the collar and cuff thing don't work that well anyway unless you wash the fabric or the already made ones every single time you wash the shirt ... ...
Instead going to that kind of trouble I decided to make some Athenian hand made bespoke boxer shorts with some of the nice cottons I had ( Alumo, Carlo riva )and a heavy black linen ...

Nice work and good use of talent :)
Now, what to do with the leftovers from the boxers...? :P

My favourite cut has elastic only in the back and a triangle-shaped overlapped fly - sort of a double... breasted?!

Thanks Costi , I know the cut you are talking about ..I have some boxers witha similar cut but i quite enjoy wearing this simple cut too. Needles to say the black heavy Irish linen is my favorite and it feels rally comfortable and solid at the same time ... The shirt made from this linen I can only wear during the autum and winter time . The other day I had to go for an MRI for my left knee , my wife was there and there were to young ladies assistants to the radiologist who was doing it . I've never felt so comfortable exposed in boxers in my life ... I recommend heavy solid crispy linen for boxers .

Linen is addictive. I have boxers, bed sheets, pyjamas, kimonos, yukatas, suits, shirts, shirt jackets, hankies, ascots and jackets! Whew, it is such a pleasure.

Michael, the only thing missing form your list is socks! And I'm serious. I found some in a shop in Italy, years ago, so I couldn't tell you who makes them, or where to get them, but if we are ever to find these again, it's only your passion for linen that can guide you to the source :)

I couldn't agree more, linen everywhere.
Don't forget napkins, too. Oh, and caps.

Vassilis - feeling properly undressed, too, not only properly dressed :)

Costi, re: socks. They might be from Bresciani (http://www.sockhopny.com/products/bresciani-linen) -- though I'm not impressed at all with them...

Andrey, good pointer, but they were not Bresciani, I would have remembered the price
Plus these are not over the calf.

For my leftover cotton fabrics I had them made into pillow covers. :D
