Pre- and post-WWI office wear

A nice contrast in styles and levels of wear. Truman got some heat while President for how he dressed, but was on at least one occasion voted the best-dressed senator. Suits like this certainly helped.

In the US you no longer see Presidents or Senators wearing DB suits. I think it´s a pity.
Truman´s jacket is a beauty. Although I would have asked for a sleeve a tiny bit narrower on the cuff and the front pocket closer to (even starting under) the lapel.

Garner's tailcoat is impressive too.

Interesting 2-button cuff - and the sheen on the fabric makes it look like Melton?

I think the sheen is from years of wear and bad pressing.

Good eye, Melcombe. The brushed nap makes me think of Melton too, although regarding the sheen itself I believe Concordia has a point.
