What a simple and beautiful way of solving a problem by the Master himself.
How would you match white espadrilles and a pair of slacks (or shorts) with belt loops? No leather belt would do to perfection.
In the past I have worn a canvas belt or left the loops unnatended, but the Duke thought better and came up with an ordinary round rope and an elegant knot. Can you imagine how many ropes he might have consider, and how many knots, before coming with the beauty in the picture?
By the way, while one could get away with the rope option, I don´t think anybody but him could do it with the flowing neckerchief.

His taste in belts was wonderfully eccentric indeed.
What to think of a (baby) crocodile D-ring belt?

Mmmmm....shiny crocodile and a buckle of shiny rings. At first it made me think of Italian suits in an expensive car dealership. But once again, the Duke pulls it off thanks to his great mix of textures and geometric patterns. I wonder if he´s wearing black suede shoes.
By the way, aren´t D-rings supposed to be killers for crocodile leather?
