Everyone is talking about the world famous Vass shoes but I need a tailor since I live here. Any recommendations? For whom you come here besides the Vass shoes? Thanks!

Okay. That's going to be a good thread. You say to begin with I should find a tailor in my city. Here it starts. I don't know but Costi... is it easy for you to find a good tailor in Bucharest?

Not if one is lazy!
I never looked for a tailor in Budapest, but judging by the size and traffic of a beautiful old fabric shop where I used to buy (pretty good!) cloth, I think there are still a few tailors left. Perhaps you could go there and ask for a couple of addresses - this could be a starting point. I don't remember the name of the shop or of the street, but I remember it was very close to Vaci utca (perhaps on a parallel), and it was on a larger boulevard. If I recall anything more precise I'll let you know.

This might be the fabric store Costi is talking about:

I was there 6 months ago. Lovely shop. Another place to inquire would be W.Jungmann & Neffe in Vienna. They work with many tailors in Central Europe (
office@feinestoffe.at,
www.feinestoffe.at).
cheers, david
