While this thread may no longer be of any interest, I have posted photos of a pair of Vass medallion plain toes on the P2 last, made for me in connection with the Ask Andy Sartorial Excellence event in N.Y. last year.

The photos were taken by someone at Vass, possibly Gabor Halmos, which explains why they are so well done.

As a matter of fact, it is very interesting to me, and those shoes are beautiful. I ended up getting the EG Newbury on the 606 (the only last it is made on stock). I am very happy with the shoe.

Good choice. The 606 is a nice gentle chisel last. My Newburies are on the 888 last and they're quite sharp, in more than one sense of the word. One note: I don't think there is a great resemblance between the 606 and 888 -- the 888 is sharper in the toe and has a lower toe box, and may be a bit longer. The 606 and 808 are related.
